Kodama GC in Saitama hosted the third leg of the Aki Cup race last Saturday and Stanislav Filin won the event with a net 67 (gross 100). On a beautiful autumn day, Stan won the event by nine strokes and picked up 510 points with the victory. He seems to play this course well. This is the second time he has won an Aki or Haru Cup event on this course--he won the 2014 Haru Cup Finale here as well.
Second place and 360 points went to Savuth Kong with a net 76 (gross 89) and third place was taken by Araki-san with a net 77 (gross 109) who picked up 280 points with his effort.
Kodama GC is an excellent but very challenging course, and the best gross score from the group was placed by our fourth place finisher, Asoh-san. He recorded a net 78 (gross 87) to pick up 205 points for the tournament.
After three legs of the Aki Cup race, the new leader for the Aki Cup race is Savuth Kong with 860 points. Asoh-san moves into second with 690 points and Yasu Iwatani, who didn't play, dropped into third with 675 points.
Special thanks to Chris Hurquin and Aya Morohoshi for helping to organize and arrange the event. Next stop for the 2014 Aki Cup race, event #4, is at Shirosato on October 25th. One spots is currently still available.
